Welcome to Crete, Nebraska ~

On behalf of Crete’s residents, I’d like to welcome you to our community.  Crete is located in Nebraska’s Blue River Valley. Founded in 1870, this vibrant city benefits from both its pioneer heritage and its present day diversity.  Home to more than 6,000 residents, Crete provides the comforts of small town living with convenient access to the nearby metropolitan areas of Lincoln and Omaha.

Crete is also home to Doane College, the oldest liberal arts College in Nebraska.  The Crete Heritage Society provides a window into Crete’s past at the Benne Memorial Museum Complex.

The City of Crete provides public utility services, public library services, and park and recreation activities. Our community offers excellent opportunities for residents and businesses alike.
